Hisaizu Shrine
Introduction
Although the year of its establishment is unknown, it has been worshipped by the samurai and the common people as the god that protects natural disaster and brings good luck since the middle of the Heian period. It served as the village shrine during the Meiji period, and it became theShinto deity and protecor of the towns and villages (shichonomura, Koshigaya Juku,Osawa machi, Kawarazonemachi, Shinmei Shitamura, Yanakamura, Hanatamura) now known as central Koshigaya. The "large votive tablet, ema, offered by Hirata Atsutane” which is a tangible cultural property designated by the city, and the "Japanese Wisteria" which is a natural treasure designated by Saitama prefecture, can be found within the premises of the shrine.
