As a way to celebrate and wish for the healthy growth of children, Koinobori Festival is held every 29th of April (Showa Day) at Fudobashi and Sagami-cho recreation ground. About 800 colorful "Koinobori" carp streamers floats along the 100-meter wide Moto-Arakawa River. Its appearance as it swims in the sky is very impressive. A 5-meter brightly colored carp streamer made by the children from neighboring kindergarten and elementary schools is worth seeing too.
