Odomari Kannon-do (A temple dedicated to Kannon in Odomari)
Introduction
Odomari Kannon-do is said to be built overnight by the artist Hidari Jingoro. Its principal image is Bato Kanzeon and it is believed that during the year of the ox, horse owners pulled their horses and visited the temple. In the Meiji period, EMA (votive pictures) were dedicated during the Kannon’s Ennichi or holy day. And knowing the customs in those days, it is considered valuable and were designated as important cultural asset of the city.
