Yakota Sluice Gate
Introduction
Yakota water channel was built in 1680 as a form of flood irrigation channel. At present, it is sending irrigation water to Soka City. The sluice gate of the facility is known as the oldest brick sluice gate existing in the country. It is on the list of "Japan's Modern Civil Engineering Heritage 〜 Important and Existing Civil Engineering Structures 2800", published by Japan Society of Civil Engineers.
